Daylight Overdrive & Nightlight Distortion - First Edition - Matched Set

“Daylight” is a symmetrical overdrive, with a musical and textural gain sound. There is a ton of headroom, where glassy notes have space to come to life. Daylight is a pleasantly dynamic, musical, and focused.

“Nightlight” is an asymmetrical, full-bodied overdrive/distortion. The structure of the gain is detailed and complex. The gain will not collapse on itself/compress at high gain settings. This pedal is very dynamic and touch sensitive.

The pedals can stand alone or work together, like an overlapping pedal Venn diagram. They stack with other pedals very well.

We worked hard to make sure the sounds were musical and usable through the entire sweep of the controls.

Limited Edition

Only 100 of each First Edition pedal will be made (100 sets). Authenticate your pedals the following ways:

• Art: First Edition pedals are noted on the pedal artwork
• Circuit Board: The board is through-hole construction, hand soldered by the designer. The board is hand numbered in lower left corner, the Pedaltrain logo appears in lower right corner, “Designed by Aaron Wahl” appears in upper left corner, “Made in USA” appears in upper right corner.
• Signature: The interior lid is signed by Pedaltrain’s President, the pedal designer, and the enclosure painter.
• Box: Each box is hand-stamped and numbered, and includes a limited-edition holographic sticker.

The pedals were designed, built and tested in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Each circuit was hand soldered using through-hole construction with the finest components available (WIMA capacitors, Xicon resistors, Alpha potentiometers, Switchcraft jacks, Gorva true bypass switching). Each circuit was handmade by the designer himself, Aaron Wahl. The pedals are finished in Rainbow’s End sparkle black powder coating.

Testing

Prior to shipping, each pedal was hand inspected and played multiple times by the designer and Pedaltrain’s president. We A/B compared each pedal to the original prototype for a perfect audio match. We made sure everything was exactly as we want it, and ready for you to enjoy.

"Malibu Sunrise" - Daylight and Nightlight deliver John Mayer and Mark Knopfler vibes. Clean tone starts the track, then Daylight enters, the last section is Nightlight. Performed by Jerry McPherson.

"Lexington to Birmingham" - Travel the soulful South with with Daylight Overdrive in a Chris Stapleton-esque setting. Performed by Jerry McPherson. 

"The Clouds Lift Over Dublin" - Clean tone starts the track. Daylight enters and is used "always on" to lift the clouds and add a dimensional aspect to the rhythm parts. Nightlight picks up the melody lines in this U2-inspired track. Performed by Jerry McPherson. 

"Daytona Race Day" - Clean tone starts the track, and then Nightlight kicks in. Nightlight is stacked throughout to build and capture the energy of a motor speedway race, inspired by Blackberry Smoke. Performed by Jerry McPherson. 

"Closer to the Other Side" - Daylight and Nightlight are used to capture a loose and jangly rock track, inspired by Mutemath. Performed by Jerry McPherson.

• Power: Standard 9-Volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. External power supply required, there is no battery clip inside. Power supply not included. 9V only.
• DO NOT RUN AT HIGHER VOLTAGES. Using any voltage other than 9V, or improper power (AC, 18V, etc) may damage the device and void your warranty.
• Current Draw: Less than 10 mA.
• True Bypass Switching: The devices use standard mechanical true-bypass switching. Audio will pass-through if the switch is turned off, and/or if there is no supply power to the pedal.

USA:  One-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not cover wear and tear, nor incidental or consequential damage to persons or property caused by use, abuse, misuse, or improper storage or transport of the unit. Cosmetic variation is to be expected and not covered under warranty. This is a limited-edition product. Be advised parts and components used to make the product may become unavailable in the future. In the event certain components become unavailable, we will substitute the component with an appropriate replacement. Warranties are given to the original purchaser only and not transferable. This warranty shall not apply to any goods that have been altered or modified by anyone other than Pro Stage Gear LLC.  Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims, so please save your receipt.
